I’m sitting in the corner of this amazing café that’s right next to campus. The green tea latte was a bit pricy, but it is probably the best latte I have ever had. It’s also the most green green tea latte I’ve ever had. It’s apparently got four floors; currently I’m sitting on the second floor. I was totally impressed by the automatic sliding glass doors at each entrance to the various rooms and in awe at the décor. Homey and warm with all the oak furniture, but oh so modern…AHHHH a café lounger’s dream!
Well, I think I’ve found my new coffee place, my regular William’s Coffee Pub ain’t got nothing on Café Bene. While I'm loving the conversation and company of my classmates and new Aussie friends, I've realized what a loner I actually am when I'm back home. After classes, I'd usually just head home or to Williams to study...I shop alone back home, eat alone often...I'm used to it just being myself and my thoughts (wow, I sound totally anti-social). I don't think that my classmates have seen very much of my quiet/reserved/not jumping up and clapping side, but it's bound to come out sometime during our 6 months together. But no worries, gang! I just need a cup of coffee, a good scene, and I'll be all bouncy again in no time. Yes, yes Cafe Bene is definitely going to be my new go-to space.
